No no you got everything right, I also love that part of him because I think despite the author not showing what kyouji thinks, we know that he is actually self aware of the position that he is in, the fact that he’s a yakuza and how that would affect his relationship with satomi and i really love the fact that satomi was brave enough to technically “confess” because i feel like kyouji feels like he shouldn’t ask for more and only lets on just enough despite feeling the same because he doesnt want to endanger satomi <3
That kyouji asks satomi “what do you want us to be” because it gives Satomi the power to decide how he wants their relationship to be defined without any pressure from Kyouji’s side. As the older one he holds more “power”, so to speak, and him asking this really shows how much he values Satomi and his feelings, as well as their current relationship.
I’m having trouble writing what I want to say, so I hope I made some sense here, lol.
Anyway, I’m rambling, but all this to say, I love their dynamic. I love their relationship, and I love Kyoujis consideration of Satomi.
