I think what she meant was that her decision to let Iris go without so much as a big and heavy punishment makes her angry, because I would be too.

Iris is the eldest daughter. You're talking about Ashley letting the Countess go.

Woah, I think I hit a nerve. I’m pissed at Mildred because she keeps getting stuck on Ashley then iris because she can’t seem to understand that she doesn’t need to take care of her almost adult sisters.

You need to realize that this is the olden times women can't work or do anything without a man so ofc she's going to worry about them what if they can't marry? Who's going to take care of them if Mildred dies? Women in olden times can't really do anything but to marry. And why can't Mildred get stuck on Ashely? It's her kid. They all have things to face

You’re looking at it from a different perspective than I am and I’ll respect that. But the pacing of the story feels like she forgets Ashley isn’t her only daughter.

Well she was pretty sure she was in a fairy tale and she really wanted to make sure she finished it. And she doesn't forgets they all their moments (and I respect you for respecting my opinion (▰˘◡˘▰))
