I believe mostly what he did, Cedric put thoe back to mansion fiance he might get marry to her in future due to political benefit or to hide crime till both of them dies nobody would know how many children died in mansion (i read documentaries too that old mansions has lots of skeletons) theo believe Cedric is angel who gives message to God so he wrote all his sins and thoughts on paper for Cedric which he burnt them after reading
