Wow, glad I read this comment instead of the latest chapter right away. This manga really pisses me off in so many ways (Like his co-workers attitude toward him not completing high school because he had to take care of his sister. While I'm sure there would be one or two jerks but I think most people would be impressed by his dedication to his family instead of antagonizing him over it all the time.) The whole rape thing on top of it all just crosses the line. So yeah, I'm dropping this turd of a manga.
Well, later on it is shown that the bastardly attitudes the people had around Mako was mostly how "Mako saw it". The boss bluntly crash on him with "It is you that put yourself down, giving up instantly and blaming the world for it".
Some of the "badmouthing" might have been ill willed, but most of them were them actually thinking it was amazing of him to don't give up on his studies, they were just adults with problems on their side too so they didn't have the will stop to congratule him with a round of applause and praise (in a pretty shinji Ikari fashion), adults have worst things on their mind trying to keep life on float. Mako had too much close to zero selfsteem to actually take it as that though.
Dafuck is wrong with the cops?! Dude goes and save girl girl from rape and gets locked up?! Only in manga we see shit like this... Tarnishes cops and the work they do for society. Worst, if a stupid guy reads this and stumbles upon rape he just go away to not get locked up...
