Maybe it's just me but I want to believe that she did it because she didn't want him to be a murderer. Once you kill someone, it'll break something inside you. He was already so broken, she probably didn't want him to break even more. Maybe she wanted to see how things go, hoping it could end without him having to be a murderer. But again, they're just my thoughts.
Fuck it, this one makes me cry soo bad because of their past trauma, especially Sanae's. Man his father and family was a bunch of retard that SAed a fucking literal child what the fuck.
