its like a convention of omegaverse… sort of hard to understand in the context of this story since the tl isnt very clear but, ougi pretty much needed to do it to justify to himself and the other alphas in the class that he was on top and he was kanae’s mate or whatever. it was a weird revenge fantasy he took out on hayato because of what he did to kanae.
