With the real daughter back and capable of manipulating ppl and being the "heroin".. FL just had all her hard work trashed.. because all the real daugther needs is one opening (one sliver of sympathy) and bomb .. she can gain controle over the target...
No mater what fl does... the older brother will never belive her, her most trusted is now in the heroin's hand and the system has yet again locked her out of seeing ppls favorbility .. and if it drops to low.. they wont hesitate to kill or do worse to her..
She has lived a life of survival... and just as she saw hope.. was kicked into the abbys... only for the game to not even grant her peace in death.. So she is giving up.. why should she struggle if its in vain.
i mean she has every reason to think they don't... they've continually undermined her by blaming her for stuff before asking her what actually happened, only her dad has even kinda sorta apologized and of course derek sucks. she can't see all the stuff they're struggling with, all she sees is them either been awful or holding back their actual feelings (which does nothing to help her :( )
Who are YOU to criticise Penelope for being distrustful and disdainful of her so-called “family”? Did you forget how both of her brothers were willing to let her die or even kill her by their own hands just because she acted out or misbehaved (mostly due to the unfair and horrible treatment she’s endured from the WHOLE HOUSE?)
Let me remind you again, just because they’ve ALL “turned over a new leaf” and treat Penelope with COMMON DECENCY that was the BARE MINIMUM for god sake, doesn’t mean they get a b*tch pass and have their wrongdoings be erased or justified. The bar is so low it’s in HELL dang it.

Well I am a reader of this manga for one and like everyone else I have my own opinion which I'm sharing on this platform. I'm not saying they aren't utterly crappy. But the duke at least has been showing how much he cares for Penny even if she think it's fake. She still yearns for their approval which is evident in the way she always lights up whenever they take her side over Yvonne. I'm not saying that it erases their wrongdoings but I am saying it opens a door for them to have a well needed discussion and make amends. She doesn't have to accept their apology but I know she'd appreciate it on some level
Yes, she may appreciate the gestures, but that SHOULDN’T automatically be defined as forgiveness, in which you’re trying to enforce as. No she doesn’t need to make amends with them or “open a door” for them when it’s been opened for so long before, and it wasn’t until she was truly done with putting up them and shut herself off from everyone that they regret what they’ve done. And to be fair they’re not even apologising or acknowledging their actions to the ACTUAL Penelope (If the story somehow made the two of them the exact same person then my bad it’s been quite a while since I’ve read this), the one who had actually suffered from them (not saying the present one didn’t as well, just saying the previous Penelope took a lot more of their sh*tty behaviour than anyone else did).
Bruh Penelope needs to cherish her own life more and realize that her family actually cares about her. She earned their affection and care through her own merit and I hope she recognizes that soon and stop trying to speed run death
