Woah this was so well said :'( It's unfortunate that they probably still have some feelings for each other, both clearly in different ways, but wow did you hit the nail on the head. You described it perfectly. I think that's what makes the story all the more frustrating, knowing that the mc probably has some suppressed feelings for the man who's torturing him and SA'ing him, while his rapist has some twisted form of love for him (kinda like if Painter of the Night and Sadistic Beauty BL Story had a baby together lol)
i think they’re both “in love” with eachother in a very twisted way tbh. yeonjo struggling to kill heeryang and genuinely laughing and enjoying his time with him before and heeryang treating yeonjo so differently from everyone else shows that they both do have eachother in their hearts. but ofc fucked up situations happen where heeryang already has thrown any ounce of morality the moment he decided to survive in this life, him knowing that he’s murdered yeonjo’s family has already made him aware that any relationship they have will never be a filling one - and he embraces that the moment yeonjo tries to kill him. if he can not have a normal relationship with the one he loves then he will grab him by the neck and keep him next to him by force, even if yeonjo suffers that doesn’t matter because heeryang knows he is not a good natured man anyways. yeonjo’s attempt at killing heeryang was the breaking point they needed to truly accept the reality of their nature and life and end the delusion they are living in. only i think heeryang over estimates his cruel nature, he won’t be able to handle the implications his own actions of abuse have to the only person he has ever buried in his heart. the fact that heeryang was predestined to such a fucked up life due to the poverty he experienced as a child and how this has implications all the way up to the upper social class, leaving yeonjo a child to live such a horrid life is just :( very very sad
