I am of the same opinion as you. But I think it's the half-brother's sense of justice or something that's why he doesn't want to align with MC.

I kinda liked him in the beginning, i thought he would be the head of their clan so MC can do his own thing but his "sense of justice" and naivety will surely kill him. He has no idea about schemes and planning. Personally, he is not fit to be head of the clan if he maintains his type of thinking.
Honestly would rather side with my brother so that I can live, what a stupid brother
