In my opinion I don’t think that was r@pe, not even borderline. Bc specifically ch.3 he gave him 30 mins and all he had to do was endure his pheromones and he would be let go. Plus he 100% knew what they were gonna do when they went to the room, then he went back for more so it wasn’t a problem. And it wasn’t “half-assery” if that wasn’t his motive in the first place.
How is that not rape? In this world, pheromones are something that makes you lose your inhibitions. I need to reiterate that this story is good, I just do not like the first few chapters. At the very least, it started getting good past that point.
See I understand the example you’re giving but run or fail. Let’s say you didn’t know you were gonna run before you ran you just had a choice at the moment. He had 2 notices both in the lobby before he willingly went to the room to knowingly “run”. After saying he would do what ever the uke said, It wasn’t bc he was a “freak”. So the “choice” was never an illusion he had it from the start but still chose to go.

Bro, I really think your mindset is dangerous. Sure, the MC was okay with it in the beginning, that’s why he went upstairs of his own volition and was kissing. But, he did not consent to being tied up, searched involuntarily, and then basically forced to endure an aphrodisiac for the chance to escape. This wasn’t a “play” if it wasn’t discussed beforehand and basically takes away a person’s only opinions without proper discussion. Thats like saying that people cannot change their minds after they start having sex, which is very dangerous in my opinion.
okay I get what you’re saying, and honestly after thinking about it more I can see how someone could call that borderline. Like yeah he went in willingly and started kissing but once he was searched, tied up, and had to deal with the pheromones without knowing he was gonna be in that situation when he got into the room. But I still think there’s a difference in how it played out in the story… The way the manga framed it and how they both acted it felt more like a fantasy type thing or like a power play especially since they both were clearly into it after.(thats what i meant by a type of play.) I think that’s just where we see it differently, like it didn’t make me uncomfortable but i get why it didn’t sit right with you.
Also i wanna say i don’t think my mindset is dangerous because i’m not saying this kind of stuff is okay in real life i’m just saying in this specific story it didn’t read as rape to me. Based on how everything played out, and how they felt after i do believe consent is important and people can change their minds anytime. I’m not ignoring that i just saw this scene differently.
Plus not everyone in the comments thought it was borderline some people felt like it was actual rape and others didn’t think it was anything at all so clearly there’s different ways to interpret it i think it just depends on how you personally read the scene and what kind of boundaries you see in fiction.

I should say, the first few chapters were a major turn off. It was borderline r@pe and me no likey. This is coming from a guy who likes those sort of stuff (r@pe, hypnosis, etc.) I hate half-assery. If you wanna do something, do it full force. That includes r@pe and the likes. The fact that this is a wholesome type of manga too.
I'd rate this 7.8 out of 10. If I ignore the first few chapters, instantly jumps up to 9.8 out of 10.
