To be fair, she can’t just straight up kill someone and he had the prince backing him up so that was gonna make it harder to kill him but yeah she should have confided in the duke ages ago and quit assuming he did not actually love her. This would have resolved a lot of misunderstandings but hey, she’s kinda dumb.
