A lot of lgbtq people in 2008 did search a lot for people similar to them. To feel safe, it wasn’t completely easy to inquire about it or easy to find them but they were everywhere and the boy in this was clearly one of them.
How is this kid clearly one of them??? That was my point, it was hard to find this info then, many kids suffered until later in life or until they got to college and experienced some semblance of freedom. The earliest mention of aromanticism was in 2005 in an English speaking forum. Perhaps it was more of a nebulous term before in the internet then like how they talk about it here now in 2025. Idk, but it seems unlikely that this kid was that deep into the internet, he seemed to have come to that conclusion right then and there, he did like some advanced philosophical thinking to get to that conclusion in like 4 mins. You can see it in the comments right now, some people haven’t heard of it and it’s hard for some people to wrap their heads around the concept of no romantic attraction. That kid did that shit in 4 mins.

He has the knowledge of like a uni kid who’s exploring and meeting different ppl and into learning about them, very unusual for a 17 year old kid to be that knowledgeable at that particular time when they were in hs because even in the internet it would have been hard to come across this info
