I don't understand
I shortened it from “wake up and smell the kool aid”, which references the saying to “wake up and smell the coffee”. Both mean the same thing, to realize the truth about your or somebody else’s situation (aka realizing jaekyung is just an asshole and doesn’t actually want good things for Dan). The saying can also reference the poisoned juice used in Jonestown, which killed like 900 people (I think that’s why the saying changed from coffee to kool aid, but I’m not sure). This can change the meaning a little bit to be “wake up and smell the masked poison in front of you”.
I was basically saying I was glad somebody else realized how bad the writing is and that jaekyung sucks.
Oh ok! I'm not from the US so I had no idea but yeah the writing is awful.

dan said he was in love with him but after jaekyung gave him a reality check, he dropped his feelings, he is obviously hurt but more because jaekyung did not trust him rather than jaekyung not loving him and jaekyung...he is an asshole, he only wants to fuck, period
