I think the crazy mother also gaslighted her to isolate herself since she kept telling her that no one in the north was safe except her and her ladies in waiting. Aka psycho mommy made a repeating circle of hell for her kid where other people in the dukedom from the Duke down to the servants thought the child wanted nothing to do with them. Still sucks that no one other than the sister reached out, but maybe the ladies in waiting messed with anyone of servant level who would have tried.
Her family is wack I hate the father and brother yeah Edward is awkward but why the hell they didn't know what the maids did to the kid? Like she's a normal child idk It kinda irritated me when she suddenly get useful that's when they realize oh I like her and stuff
