Former master(fm) and princess (if youre referring to mc’s mom) are bff, princess is engaged/ married to crown prince/ fm’ s half bro, dead kid is fm’s full bro/ crown prince’s half bro. During the intense inheritance war, several siblings tried to kill crown prince, in return he killed them all. Fm and dead kid fled to church and says we dont want the crown. But crown prince still kills dead kid due to paranoia(?) or making sure that he will never do in the future. Fm grieved and most likely contracted demon king at this point. Crown prince wouldve killed him too but most likely convinced not by the princess. He acts sane in public and “forgave” crown prince due to princess’s pleas. But deep down he is spiraling to depression, insanity, and intense hatred. Years passed, mc was born. Fm became pope/ cardinal(?). During the long drought, when demon king’s plan started to fully manifest, fm faked an oracle provided by demon god, it was criptic, ad turmoil brewed in the country. The princess, now queen, was becoming alarmingly concerned. She started meeting fm more frequently and coincidentally was pregnant too. Crown prince, now king, was suspicious of them, but mainly fm and tried to kill him (?). Their relationship (emperor and fm) became more rock bottom. then, another oracle was faked, pinning the king as the source of the drought. Ppl believed it, and the king was sacrificed to stop the drought. Princess pleaded the fm to stop it but was not answered. Princess and fm’s relationship went downhill fast but she still wants to protect fm from king and save king from being sacrificed. Her hands were tied cos either one pf them can she only save. This is when the flashback broke mc before. Then, the day came that king was sacrificed, and the queen followed suit. Making mc become emperor/ king at a very young age.
