meh~ not sure if it's an asian thing but that's the normal serving size when i visit home (as in, they overfeed you to the point it hurts)
any less than that and they'll start saying things like "you look as if a light breeze could blow you away", "even a small kitten would eat more than you", " kids your age should be eating like a horse", "eat more or you'll end up passed out on the street", "others would think that we starve you" etc etc

I’m only referring to rice, not the whole meal. I’m asian and I’m telling you, it’s not common to have that much rice in one meal. It is common to have large meals with a lot of meat and veggie dishes but not just that much egg AND rice.

there's differences among different asian countries too... bc in my case, we go by small portions of side dishes (2-3 side dishes commonly, more if there's a special occasion, none if it's a lazy day) and a medium/large sized plate full of rice with curry. if we swap rice with roti/flatbread, it'd be 4-6 roti. can't say if it's healthy or not bc thats subjective ultimately.

So, the amount of omurice (the rice looks seasoned so it's probably fried rice) he's been served is how much i get served when i visit home (or at weddings bc they serve us a plateful even when we say "just this much"). i wasn't trying to correct you on your experience or habits... it was more me trying to say that that serving size is normal for some ppl? idk

I understand that you are not trying to deny other people’s experience and I get that you were just saying what you experienced.

Also, I didn’t mention that I was referring to the panel where the uke is facing backwards and has his phone leaning on his glass of water and to be clear, we don’t know if that’s the real size given how inconsistent the size of it on other panels but that’s what made me think it’s ridiculously big.

It looks completely massive there that I need to point it out because it’s funny for me when authors mess up scale.

So this is just an estimation to lay things out because when seen this way, and the fact that rice is a heavy carbohydrate with not much fiber in it is making me remember those constipated days of mine lol, not trying to argue, but to put things into perspective:

That panel, let’s assume that the width of the plate is the same as the uke’s shoulder. Given how closer objects appear larger and there’s not much difference between the plate’s length and uke’s shoulder length even with that distance and view. The average korean man’s shoulder length is 15.7 inches but ket’s chop 2 inches since there are areas around the plate with nothing on it, so 13.7 inches (a). The height of the rice from the baseline of the plate can be assumed to be around the uke’s neck height so that’s around 3-4 inches but let’s say it’s 3 inches (b). The width of the rice can be assumed to be the measure of uke’s neck and head height. So 3 inches + the average korean man’s head size of around 8-9 inches but let’s say 8 or even 7 so that’s 10 inches (c).

That’s obviously a half of an ellipsoid so to get the volume of rice that serving has, V = ((4/3) 3.14abc)/2. That’s 860.36 cubic inches of rice. For reference, that’s equivalent to 14.09 liters of water, or those rice cookers, the BIG ones. Yep, that’s how much rice that is, a whole BIG rice cooker. Also, note that the variable used are the smallest measure in the average size range to take into account that there are eggs in it as well.

It was obvious to me how much rice that is given how I humorously made a comment about it so putting and seeing the actual measurements doesn’t surprise me.

I am not saying that someone can’t eat that much given how much ‘physical activity’ they did the night prior, but that is not something advisable and it is humorous to me because of how unhealthy it is in general health standards. I pointed that out because of the sheer amount of rice and accompanied by only eggs (protein) with nothing more. No veggies, no anything.

That's not just rice though? Isn't that basically egg on top of fried rice (with veggies)? Which is a very normal meal

I don’t really know which part of my reply (or replies) is confusing you to be saying that. First, you are not hallucinating the veggies right? Second, I didn’t even imply that omelette is not a normal meal, it’s that, the amount of rice is ridiculous. If you’ve taken time to read my other reply before typing, you would know the panel I’m referring to. It is also seen there how thin the egg layer was drawn thus making me find it humorous
