Uggghh I used to ship Penelope and Eclis and genuinely wanted them to be happy together so I can’t bring myself to hate Eclis and it’s just auggh I know he’s being brainwashed but he also never truly loved Penelope so it’s just hard because I can’t hate him but he’s the one who’s done this to himself and I don’t want Penelope to give in to him. God I just love the character depth the author gives for each character where they do rash things like this but I see it as reasonable, genuinely good writing to make me love and hate nearly every single character, in a good way of course, it’s rare to come across stuff like this
