Guess what, I pushed through and got back to it, I finally finished it... and wow this story is masterpiece (▰˘◡˘▰) enjoyed every bit of it
The dad thing is kinda odd but just imagined it as Daddy (baby daddy trope), that helped.

I really tried reading this, I read it until chapter 10 and yeah the story is interesting even with the older guy being his stepdad, because he was only his stepdad for a brief time. But the fact that the young boy keeps calling him "dad" is what bothers me. If he didn’t do that, I think I could read this more easily but the fact that he calls him dad, and that for him he's more of a dad than his biological dad... yeah, I cannot
Which is sad because I was really excited to read this one
