This was a 5 star for me but I had to bump it down to a 4. I guess leaving the story without any sides would have been better than whatever we are getting now ╥﹏╥ I reread the tags I used for them and it was "so fucking wholesome rahhhh" and "healthy relationship"... The author forgot their own story it seems like. Where is the wholesome and where is the healthy relationship? I have never seen a side story botch a character like this. I know Ash is whipped for Lyle but true love ain't about forcing your views on your partner or doing things on your whim. I just hope the sides take a turn and Ash becomes a green flag again.
I know Lyle needs a push to confess his innermost feelings and whatnot, but Ash is sometimes too much. I hate how he always has to make things go his way. Their dynamic just isn't healthy. Lyle is an alpha too ffs so you can't even be like "this is an omegaverse so that's why they have such strong dom-sub energy." Should have made this a subverse if the author wanted Ash to bully Lyle so much. It gave me the ick how Lyle gets uncomfy but gives into Ash's whims because he is just so into him. Talk about toxic relationship TT I love these two but these side stories be showing Ash in a negative light. I just want Ash to respect Lyle's decisions. And I totally get pushing Lyle out of his comfort zone and helping him learn new things about himself but this whole punishment thing sucked. THERE WAS NO SAFE WORD!! I know bdsm is shown super wrongly in most BL but if you are trying to make a healthy relationship or protray the leads as green flag then Ash should have given Lyle a safe word. I could rant forever but ugh I will continue reading since I have invested so much time in this.
