I have to read this twice because this chapter was like finding a gold mine below your nose.
I hope that the novel our MC is reading it's a flag about what may happen later in the story: • Her fiancé has already been acting like the ML of the novel (grieving the love of the girl he lost) and him gifting the hair ornament asking (more like winning lmao) her to wear it for the dance. • Our MC just voiced out loud how she preferred the servant character in the novel because she would rather support the character thas has always been by the protagonist side rather than the ML, the one you would expect the protagonist fall in love with.
Our MC doesn't even know what type of person she would like to fall in love , she was all about her fiancé her whole life because she was thought he was suppose to be her life companion. She realized in the bad way that he wasn't doing even the bare minimum to maintain a relationship with her, and that made her finally realize how she didn't want that for herself, and now she's little by little knowing what she likes and what she wants.
(Unfortunately for the fiancé he actually liked her but man he didn't show ONE bite of affection for her, not even affection but common respect for her as a person actually.) (I'm also thinking that even though he likes her, maybe he doesn't know if he loves her like that, but I'm thinking this based on how he was hardly thinking what love really is)
But if those were some clues from the author to what we're going to see in the future, our girl is going in a self-discovery journey to find out what she really wants, I love love love this.
