Selfish, self-righteous, messy, dishonest teenagers. Honestly this interaction feels very real for me. This is my personal take but both of them are still stuck in the past and being selfish about it. One doesn't want to admit why he fights or his feelings related to the past/their past friendship. Meanwhile the other one is being a stubborn lil shit because he doesn't want to admit things have changed between them to a possible point of no return. A part of me hopes they work thru this but also I wouldn't mind for this to end in one of those childhood friendships that just end with no real closure attached to it because that's more often the case in these scenarios in real life.

You get it! I genuinely think that part of growing up is realizing that not every connection you make is going to last and that the ones that end don't always end in this big way or with drama. I'd love if this story was going to be one of those cases but I'm not going to get my hopes too high
