I feel like it was because of pride, he probably had always been jealous of the red dragons and didn't want to be handed the position like that, he wanted to be chosen by the people, he didn't want to always be in the red dragon's shadow, shows how selfish he is tho
I honestly don't understand why he did All That. Like if the red dragons meant for him to take up the leadership + as the orange dragon he was the strongest remaining one anyway. Why did he need to lie about them being traitors?
