If I'm not wrong, she's not exactly human. She needs all the mirror pieces, and Penny has one, why, I don't really remember. But Yvonne isn't human so things like living happily, marrying and all that meant nothing to her.
To manipulate everyone. The prices make her able to use magic and brainwash the people, but she needs every piece to make it the full capacity. So that they cannot escape it like Reynolds did in some earlier chapters.
So Pen would pity Eclis, if she's not already exhausted from Yvonne's shenanigans? What's Yvonne's goal actually? Like, she could life an incredible happy and peaceful life with everyone, meet someone nice and marry them. Why do all this? To get rid of Pen, who just wants to live and see the next day?
