I think it's because to us the reader 1) We're a smidge bias because we're reading it from the FL's POV
And 2) We know why the FL did those things, but without that perspective to the public (particularly the nobility) of the time she seems: arrogant, uppity and undeserving of being under such a powerful house
I don't the FL was necessarily bad in the past, I think she was just desperate for attention and affection so lashed out and acted out. While being very, very naive and uninformed of the wider powers acting at the time
Also, she was basically brainwashed into thinking she was 'bad' and the saint was 'good', so at times performed her role to an extent.
Yeah I guess, its just that she also thinks the ML hated her but he clearly was in love with her so I can't tell if shes just unreliable since she was traumatized from a young age or if her memories were tampered with. Like he does seem to hate her in some memories but in others we can clearly tell he loved her
That's a fascinating perspective. That definitely could be the case. Could it have been magically changed I wonder?

It’s possible she’s mixing memories as well. She knows she’s in a novel, where her character was a villainous. So she has knowledge from the book and her past life. That’s why near the end of her past life she was a bit confused on why Edwin liked her when in the book Edwin hated her.
At least now she realised the current Diana is not the same nice ogfl from her past life (if she was actually nice to begin with in the past) or in the og novel. So many people where hating on me for being nice to her even tho it was clear Diana was a green tea bitch, forgetting that in her past life Diana was always nice (at least it seemed like she was) and she was the og heroine in the novel. She felt guilty for always been rude towards her and tried to get along with her in this life. Now she sees through the mask, decided she’s done being nice.
I think Diana likes Edwin and wanted to live in the dukes house but was adopted by the other dude. Probably why they were together in the past life because she wanted Edwin and the dude who adopted her wanted the dukes house to fall to ruin so he pulled stirrings and used her ability (the purple thing) to possessed and brainwash People including the FL (cause FL lost her powers she wasn't able to detect the possessions) Diana most likely helped just to force Edwin in an arranged marriage
I feel like our FL doesnt even recall her first life accurately, idk she seems to paint herself as a villainess but I dont think she's right about how she acted. It seems more likely that either someone manipulated her memories or perception or that she has forgotten things or that she was convinced by those around her that she was bad despite not actually doing bad things
