In many communities in Korea they see tattoos as a symbol of being in a gang. In fact, they technically require tattoo artists to have a medical license in order to practice.
I think Asia got some prejudice with tattoos, especially the older generations.

You should not have any tattoos
But after getting job you can get a tattoo
