Yeah I agree wholeheartedly with your take, ML is making his life impossible for this shitty flaky guy who can’t commit to anything. I almost hope some drama goes down between him and his bf so MC can somehow swoop in as a decent guy for once and comfort him
He makes his own life difficult by clinging to that guy

I wonder, when they do get together will he just turn into a pushover with mc?
The only thing I genuinely liked about his personality was that he gave the mc shit for being an ass but if that goes out the window and mc behavior doesn't change ...well it doesn't sound like it'll be fun to read
But I could see mc turning into a golden retriever type of boyfriend too
