And I feel bad for our Ciel, he was raised as Earl's spare. His parents hid him so not many people even knew about his existence. He only continued on with the lie so that he could enact his revenge faster, find the murderers of his parents and brother faster. He has pledged his soul to the devil. Now the original Ciel or Earl is back, instead of getting back at his twin, shouldn't he also be investigating the death of their parents. Unite against the common enemy and such

His family didn't hide him? They kept him inside because of his health and rich families would keep to themselves so it's normal to not know their whole family? Plus, lots of people knew the twins existed? The people that live on the Phantomhive land would have known about the twins, Nina would have known about the twins, and Vincent's friends knew of the twins. He wasn't raised just as the earl's spare? Vincent taught both of them their roles and he didn't have favorites. Vincent loved both of his boys and he thought our Ciel can handle the family's job if he got it. Francis was the one that had doubts but she was just worried about her nephew.

That's your opinion really but it's not what is shown in the story, he was a spare and was treated as such

    - Sure Frances had doubts, she may have been worried about him but it also means she didn't consider him worthy and able of being the new count, she also calls him a spare like it's an admitted fact for everyone

    - his uncle clearly tells him, a child, that as the second son he will have to take care of himself in the future since he won't inherit anything, it's violent for a child

    - Their family DID hide him, yes there were people who knew him but the public didn't. It didn't impact him directly but tells you that in the public's eyes he was not part of the family. It's not like they said the youngest son was sickly they didn't announce his existence.

    - He didn't have a propre name ??
he basically didn't have an identity that doesn't involve his brother

Sure he was not mistreated and his parents did the best they could but he was treated as a less-good version of his brother it's one of the point of the flashback to show his perpective ?

Even as a child he coulf feel that difference, why deny his experience and pretend like he got a great treatment when it's plain obvious that he felt sad and anxious by said treatment ?

I also agree!! It feels wrong to invalidate Ciel's feelings when we have known him since chapter 1, like 14 years now ? 10 years on this site..

He felt like a spare. He probably felt unwanted too - as seen when he willingly withdraws himself from their family outing. And mind you, he is not only intelligent but also has high EQ. We've seen him interact with his servants and helping others numerous times. So, he understands these social intricacies, what is shown and felt but not told. He knows how to read in between the lines.

Also, we don't know nearly enough about the Earl (OG Ciel), and I highly doubt that this undead version is any closer to the real one. There is clear malice in his eyes and mannerisms, he feels tainted. When our Ciel still has his innocence.

It's not wrong to sympathize with the OG, my point was only that instead of getting back at Ciel, why not investigate who killed their parents. Why not be happy ? That his only surviving family is alive ? Why does Ciel feels so terrified of him? Ciel doesn't deserve this.

Yes, he lied. He took over his name. But at the same time, he has sacrificed all that he owned. His name, his soul, his future.

    Anyways! ٩(๑❛ᴗ❛๑)۶

That's just your opinion, his family loves both boys and like i said they *didn't* hide him. They kept him inside because of his health not for any other reason. No, he wasn't treated as the less good version of the first child, I never seen the twins' parents or family treat them differently. Like I said rich/royal families were very private so it's not a big deal that the public didn't know about the twins. Vincent or Rachel didn't try to hide that they had twins and you're acting like the Phantomhives are famous when they aren't. I don't think anybody cared about it. Plus, the Phantomhive family have a very dangerous job so they would be extra private and try to live on the down low as much as possible.

Only their close circle knew about the twins and everybody at that party Vincent took his boys to would have seen them. You said it yourself we only saw Our Ciel's prospective so you should stop making assumptions about the family. Being a spare isn't as terrible of a thing you're making it out to be but Our Ciel's survivor's guilt and low self-esteem made it a bad thing. Being the first child is more difficult than being the spare, our Ciel had it easy. You are forgetting that Francis is a spare and Elizabeth is a spare too. I don't think they meant it in a bad way or had any ill intentions (except for Elizabeth) , royals took their family title and image very very seriously back then. It's like a business and our Ciel lying about his identity ruined their image and Francis was also worried he wouldn't be fit for the business because of his health. She knows the family business is dangerous so of course she'll be worried about her nephew and wanted to probably make herself the Earl in his place. We don't know the full picture but our Ciel was coddled by his whole family.

I think everybody in the family except for Elizabeth were very happy that our Ciel lived and are just very confused that our Ciel caused so much trouble trying to hide it from them. This scandal can ruin the family's image and who knows what else, I don't think our Ciel realizes this because of his low self-esteem to see the bigger picture, both twins don't understand that.
