Downvotes? I just saw a comment with the slur that has 60 upvotes. I got more downvotes than them for saying I dislike a character from some mid 5 chapter manga. Most yaoi readers just wanna see a big man fucking a smaller man. They only care about gay men's sex lives not about them as people
Usually they call out the four downvotes they get as if that counterbalances the losers giving them praise. I swear they're brainless.

Really depends because the community is already divided about it. The word "queer" is being reclaimed but the f slur still holds negative connotations for a lot of those who its used against. So the argument comes down to, "I'm okay with it so you should be too" which ignores those who've dealt with that word being used as a weapon towards them. Example a black person being okay with saying the n-word with the hard 'er', and then expecting the entirety of the black community to be okay with it.
You'd be surprised at the amount of heterosexuals who just fetishize yaoi. It's a more complex topic than you'd like to think.
Bc a lot of yaoi is targeted towards straight women especially those rapey ones like there is actually quite a lot of straight women who read BL but in the same breath be homophobic or even transphobic like they will read about them, but they will not support them if that makes sense. A lot of these people don’t really see queer people as people just a fetish
