After she was attacked he easily found her in the same secluded place and save her.
He is just the son of a merchant not a noble and the easiest way to a place of power in the nobility would be to marry mc, he is obviously trying to woo her.

I think Theodore must be a secret royal child because he has the same eyes as the crown prince, I think his mother was probably a maid of the palace and she was raped by the king. I think Theodore is the crown prince brother.
I think the king must be evil because he sent the duke to war and he lost his family. I think this was a plan so the duke would not have a heir and the king would get back the rich land he gave him.
