I was thinking that he will get a way ti become emperor early so that he can change the law
I also thought of this but realize that it will not be a good idea cuz it'll look like he's bending the law according to his whims which is not good for his image as a new emperor and to tia as well. Tia's already the head when he succeeded the throne so her becoming an empress thru Perez will look like she's greedy for power. She is tho hahaha.
He did get revenge to the emperor. Jovanes is just as cruel as the empress and there are no redeeming quality in him. Perez's revenge to him was so satisfying and sad cuz of the secret that got revealed.

It was the emperor who poisoned his mother. We all thought it was the empress but he saw Jovanes forcing his mother to take the poison. Just like how Jovanes killed the previous emperor to succeed the throne. Perez is his karma, he was poisoned as well by his own child

He'll gaslight the emperor by saying He'll abdicate being the crown prince and be a loyal son-in-law of lombardy. He loves Tia so much he's willing to be like shananet's ex-husband and I think if the emperor didn't gave the decree he's seriously will do that. He also let Astana live for this reason and blackmail the emperor into passing the crown to him or give the crown to the closest fam to imperial. Jovaness didn't like this cuz it'll be an insult to the imperial fam and he can't deny that Perez's is the only one capable and deserving to sit in the throne despite his hatred towards him looking so much like the previous emperor
