I agree with you, but also I personally really like the new one because it feels like Tadaomi is being more curt and cheeky. In my head the original was 嫌だ/やだ so both would fit lol (though I don't have access to the raws to really confirm anything)
i will say, i miss the old chapter 20 translation where when ren says "wait", tadaomi says "i don't want to". it ties it better into the whole theme where tadaomi is finally able to say what he does and doesn't want, and it's a little more satisfying/flirty than just him saying "no".
