I think? Just my opinion, but I believe all four of them are like super op human. Like they're genius, and everyone around them treats them either with awe, envy, or with jealous. And Cross, was the only one who treats them like a normal human? Maybe that's why they're all obsessed with him, and cling to him. Cause he makes them feel 'normal' and not like a monster.
