Hilliane was innocent, but that does not justify her being ignorant of what is happening around her.
It took everyone poiniting out how Helga was mistreated and her seeing it with her own eyes multiple time, for her to start beliving it,
Even when her mother told her to "be Helga" and take back her rightful place.. she belive that that was what Helga wanted.. Like who thinks like that, it was her sister who worked heard, made a name for herself, upheld her position in high society and you think he is actualy willing to hand it all ower to someone who has done nothing?
Helga warned her about their parents, about high society and kept her distance because she did not wana taker her anger out on Hilliane. Yet Hillliane awlays tried to stick to her because "sisters", she even let her self be manipulated over and over angain and never learned from it leading to her being a "traitor".
It is imposible to help/ save someone who is ignorant and does not want to be saved.
Helga left to prevent herself from harming Hilliane, so that she could take her revenge on the parents without draging Hilliane into it. Helga even states multiple times that she knows Hilliance is innocent, but cant help but hate her for getting everyones love for doing nothing (including the maid that catered to her out of guilt, and could not stand to look at Helga becaus "you grew up in luxery")
That makes sense in the beginning. But for the 4 years Helga was gone, Helliane actively worked to help Helga. She willingly bled herself too in order to activate the wand. She rebelled against her mother, joined the knighthood, and so much more. She evolved SO MUCH. But Helga just comes back and dismiss her completely without even knowing 1/4th of everything Helliane did for Helga.
Hellina "did it" for Helga, she was obsessed with being close to Helga to an alarming degree. So much so that it made her and easy brainwash target, beause the bad guy just had to go "you wana get close to your sister again".. Then Helliane became all ears and ignorde the bad feeling she had.
Im not saying she didn't work hard.. im just saying she walked straight into the claws of evil on her own acord, because of her obsession of being close to Helga. She had been warned about her obsession several times, so its on her.
And Helga didnt dismiss her hard work, she had other things to worry about such as:
1. Being a young female buisnins over in a time when men ruled the buisniss world.
2. Being a target for having been "sick" foor 4 years (mothers lies).
3. Being the fiance of the Crown Prince = nobel target.
4. Having to become independent to not have to relie on the family statuse, and be taken serious.
5. Haveing to have contingency plans because who freaking knows that The Mother might try.
She wasn’t crazily obsessed and wasn’t warned at this point of the story. Helga never thanked her or anything either, so yes, she did not get acknowledged for anything.
I pity Hilliane. She's innocent and pure yet the FML is such a selfish bitch. The one who wrong her is the mother yet she put blame on Hilliane head. Hilliane wants to build bonds and truly trust and love her yet FML only put guilt and sins on Hilliane. She don't even give a fck if her Hilliane is still alive after helping her. idk i would like if story ended with fml dying she do deserve to die. hate her.
