I know he's bi, but I love the fact that he recognized he is currently in a gay relationship this way. Is always the "you're the exception" trope, like love is a magical thing without sexual/body attraction present. This feels more real and that way he shows he's commitment and that he's not ashamed. At least, it seems that way for me.
