There is no step mom. His father who became abusive after his mother died is not allowing him to leave. He isn’t telling the love interest because his father threatened to ruin the love interests parents jobs if he kept in contact with him. Lol idk if that makes sense but basically the abusive dad is blackmailing him to stay.
Not only that but now he is threatening the Joy sibling( the love interest siblings) like if he leaves the father will do something bad to the siblings. So shin can't leave de house bc he doesn't want that to happen
Hi, so it’s been a minute since I read this story, but I remember him being an only child and the step mom allowing the abuse to happen. Was there a specific reason mentioned as to why he can’t leave the house? I know some abuse victims stay for siblings’ sake or financial reasons, but neither of those would apply to him. He would be welcomed with open arms in the main love interest’s house. I don’t want to sound rude but what is keeping him at that house? I mean isn’t he planning on leaving for college anyways?
