yes it is but who’s to say that if he said “yes” that he would follow up in the future. in reality words can only hold so much. he’s right, it would be better to see what would happen in that situation. would it be reassuring to hear him say no? absolutely- but its not confirmation of anything but his word.
The part where he said let's not worry Abt things that haven't happened is dogshit in this context because that is a very serious thing the mc has to think about because your weird ass won't tell him he's a namer!
