
Yes, it is true that it is difficult for Hayden just to do nothing when someone he cares about is hurt; though Brett told him what exactly he needs from him in this situation, for Hayden this way is like doing nothing. But i guess this is how it is when ppl with different views on life get together - they either adjust to each other or part their ways. It would be easier ofc to love someone with the same values and views as yours, but this is not the case here. This is what the story is about i guess, how two people from completely different worlds learn how to be together, change for each other. Brett will need to accept that Hayden is a goody two shoes and Hayden need to understand that in Brett's world this is how things are done and they both need to give in a bit if they want to be together, meeting the middle.
I am totally on Brett's side here. The world is far from an ideal place, and his way of dealing his revenge is far more productive than Hayden's idealistic faith in justice of law. Ofc, if you are not "Brett" you have to report it, cz this is the only way to deal with it, but will you win againt powerful ones in the end? Not sure...
