NO BECAUSE THIS IS LITERALLY WHAT I WAS THINKING. I went into this preparing to read another fetishy manwha I could joke about later but the conflicting perspectives were so intriguing I couldn’t put it down. The rpe was awful, terrible, would not recommend to friends, but wow it really showed so many aspects of the mom vs son dynamics with the main guy.
Also, the side story showing the “true” feelings behind the characters kind of made the plot hit harder. I of course despised the incest aspect but really…main guy was doomed to misery of himself and others with his crushed dreams, and the son just wanted to see what he had seen a glimpse of so long ago. If it had been in the main plot, with alternate circumstances…it would have been easier to understand that the root of each reaction was trauma and misery. Also the mother was the wordy holy crapppp
(Sorry for yapping. I’ve never read anything this polarizing before)
i know that is beyond fucked but i have to admit the plot was disturbingly beautiful, so distinct. by “beautiful” i didn't mean the rpe/abuse— but the struggles of each characters and their own haunted perspectives, especially sunghoon, he’s not entirely a good person but you do understand the root of his actions and why he acted the way he did base on said roots. if he were to live in a healthy environment he wouldn't have turned out like that. his past experiences and the people around him shaped him into someone who can withstand it all. hyunwoo was scared the fuck out of his mind because he can't fully control his father, and that adds on how good sunghoon is when it comes to taming his own assaulter, ++ sunghoon’s character is also flawed realistically. i can’t deliver my thoughts that well, but it’s not something you encounter every day, that’s why i really want to share my insight. the events of the story is terrorizing but it’s done really well in my opinion for a doomed yaoi. it’s easy to hate on a manhwa for portraying an unlikable plotline and incestuous relationship (even tho it’s not really incestuous) but sometimes it’s free to think and understand it deeper.
