I mean, he does say that he wants to keep acting like the asshole that Seo sees him as. I think he maybe doesn’t even realize that he is more interested in Seo than he thinks he is. Or at least that seems to be what the author is trying to imply.
Like Jayed is kinda in denial that he truly loves Seo? I didnt think about it, but now you say it thats like a good explanation of why he acting that way, all his live he lived as a thug and he thinks that hes not capable of having genuine feelings for someone, more if it is "job", as I can tell, idk (I still want to believe hes good)
