I remember my mom quoting "do not do unto others what you don't want others to do unto you." So it was Confucius! The word definitely needs a bit more empathy, especially with how wild things are happening now. Not that I can do so myself. I'm more apathetic than empathetic, but well... Something that should be worked more on myself, I guess.
