I have a feeling the kid is really and the father acting all that cautious just shows how people in that village never really trust each other. Like why do you have to enter my house?

I feel something's off but I don't wanna think the kid is hurt or in danger
At first i thought maybe he's abusing the kid but when he smiles about the elephant part... Maybe he's a normal loving dad, doesn't trust the community enough and the child is truly sick or worse.
