nah, this is deffo BL even without the sex. the maid leads spend sm time flirting and they're positioned as a romantic pairing. lack of on-screen sex doesn't mean it isn't BL

But usually BL entails tons of sex scenes but this story doesn’t really have any (even in the novel too), so it’s definitely closer to shounen ai than BL
Not a problem though, I love emotional angst and build up more than I love the sex scenes lol
BL doesn't mean there's sex, it means any mlm stories. both yaoi and shounen-ai (older terms, they're rly only used in the West now) fall under BL ^^
