In addition to being able to talk to anyone telepathically, Gaia’s Mind ability also allows the user to manipulate someone’s “story” (aka their memory), but they have to store it in a medium. Seo has two fake memories: 1) domin’s actual death and 2) the black portal.

So regarding the first memory: it is true that Seo had to split off from Domin to clear a dungeon boss. And when he came back, he was told Domin killed himself. However thats not the case. While Seo was doing his own thing, Domin was talking to the holder of Gaia’s mind, Kangjin, and some other revengers. Domin was telling them “this mission is useless, everything is useless, I must free you guys of this pain, let’s all die, we’re all going to die, I don’t want to be mana deficient anymore.” Everyone thought the mana deficiency side effects were getting to him, but actually he wasn’t mana deficient at the time, he genuinely believed this whole Revengers mission was useless. Then Domin whipped out his skills and killed two of his teammates. (The actually novel describes it pretty brutally- he literally beheads one guy and his gf ends up cradling it).

This entire time, Gaia’s mind holder sends out a telepathic message to Seo to come over ASAP. Seo arrives to see Domin crazy and dead teammates. He is shocked and is asking Domin what the hell he did, did you actually kill them? Domin tells seo that as the person who convinced him to join the dungeon raid, he should and his misery. Domin is about to kill when suddenly he drops dead. Seo is so confused, he is telling Domin to wake up. Kangjin (holder of Gaia’s shadow), tells seo he is dead and he copied the event horizon skill. Turns out Gaias shadow ability allows anyone to steal someone else’s skills (not copy) but the target will die. Seo is so traumatized and about to lose it when he gets knocked out. Kangjin and the Gaia’s mind user and the other revengers agree to rewrite this part of Seo’s memory, using Domin as a medium. Domin and the dead revengers are buried and they go back to join the main party.

The second fake memory is stored using the black portal as a medium. By this point; the gaias mind user is dead and Kangjin had copied the gaias mind skill. Everyone remembers there only being 1 portal after clearing the dragon final boss, however conditions weren’t met and the portal then fades. However, the actual truth is that there were two portals: the black portal and an exit portal. The actual conditions were that they must clear this final black portal or earth essentially dies. But they could also leave now and sacrifice one person to “buy time”- 10 years to be exact. There were only 5 revengers left- all in bad condition and Seo (the strongest) had developed healing resistance at this point. Going into the black portal would be a guaranteed failure. Kangjin knowing this, volunteered to sacrifice himself. He manipulated everyone’s memory, telling them to use the exit portal before walking into the black portal and essentially sacrificing himself. This is why the great dungeon reappears exactly 10 years later.

Seo does recover his memories while in the great dungeon again by finding the mediums!

Mmmm I think right now it’s about 40%? If we include side stories, it could be a bit longer. the story kinda has two arcs: before entering the second great dungeon and entering/after. We’re almost done with the first arc. I think the whole arc of them getting thru the second great dungeon is pretty long since there’s a lot of context to cover (and it’s harder to cover in art format than in text)
