I don't get what is so hard to understand...

I read this English and it's normal to me. I guess reading novels as a teen that were mostly English historical or American historical made me immune to what everyone is calling incomprehensible.

some readers aren't native english speakers or their first language isn't english, which is valid. but the english readers who are native speakers and can't seem to figure it out .... yeah..

i personally didn't read anything similar except in english classes, but i don't think it's that difficult to figure out

Honestly, I was born and raised until I was 11 in the U.S. Then I moved to Puerto Rico and well as of now Spanish is my first language. My conversational English is not that great I stutter and all that and mostly mix Spanish into it lol so in a way I am not super great with English but made sure to keep reading, watching and listening to most things in English.

Like I said I read a lot of historical novels in English when I was younger. And when I couldnt understand certain meanings of certain words I would search them up and educate myself.

Just today read Steel Under Silk and stumbled upon the word "indefatigable" I had no idea what it meant, searched it up and learned. That's it. Just learn what you dont get and those who dont understand will be fine lol
