What makes you think it’s written by a man? (It seems it was written by a woman) and be fr you know women make terrible female characters as well don’t act like that isn’t super common.
Also this is literally corn so there is no need to actually write good characters
She seems weirdly okay with being raped/sexually harassed which is concerning. I didn't like the mc either cuz he raped her but at least he keeps other creeps from raping or harassing because unfortunately she seems incapable of thinking for herself. She is a perfect example of a woman badly written by man.
