Ikr?? I love this so much. I feel like the author is so good at making characters feel real, bringing reflections and this gut wretching feeling of relatability and unsettlement. Not only that, but it makes you really realize the discrepancy between this and stories that have a clear black and white view of things and it's characters. Where there's an obvious hero and a villain. Or a loving likable Main character and their antagonist. Here is just real people, real situations, all very flawed and relatable. You're not meant to root for anyone and take somebody's side. Sure, there are some cliches and predictable things, but so does real life. We tend to mimic, crave or subconsciously fall into cliches a lot. It brings drama, melancholy and this sense of existence, excitement and importance.
This content is strange and it pulls you in because of this weird feeling of not knowing how to feel. There's no way to really point a finger without pointing it at yourself and our society too. As opposed to most stories that are just simple and clear on leading you to the narrative they want to feed you. Which isn't objectively bad either since sometimes we need lighthearted things to take a break from reality. But I really love stories like these that get me groveling and reflecting on myself.

It’s not only you my dear, it’s the author was slowly levelling up the complexity of her stories and I love it.
You're not alone. This story in particular is so good with the character writing aside from the fact that it's bound to have a bad ending. This story actually makes you feel things and I like how realistic it is to be honest.
