Why does everyone keep saying infected like these are traditional zombies. It has already been explained that the dead were coming back to life, that people weren't dying like normally, that chaos ensued (so likely people killing people), and there being severe natural disasters that were killing people & making more undead. The undead dont do anything. That's why villagers refer to them as maggots. These are essentially just corpses walking around.
