Bc it's a waste of time and energy into something that supposedly won't go anywhere...
who cares.. if ur intentions are made clear to the other person, whats the problem? dont see how it is selfish. theres plenty of other things that people put time and energy into that go nowhere and people still do them, if its not hurting anyone, you only have one life may as well spend ur time the way you want to
