Don't get me wrong. I just used the word 'feminine' to emphasize my point. A lot of bottom characters in BL tend to be portrayed or drawn with traits commonly associated with femininity, often being overly soft. What I wanted to highlight is that this MC acts like your typical man— independent, and stands his ground. I'm not trying to discredit feminine or passive bottom characters—they definitely have their place, especially in genres that lean into those dynamics. Each has their own, but I find this character different.

Just because he’s not a typical “pretty uke” doesn’t mean he’s not feminine. He is quite feminine in their dynamic and most of the characters treat him with typical stereotypes of femininity attached. You think he’s masculine because he is quiet and “independent”, when in reality he is a damsel in distress character who is always getting saved and cared for, and is reactive rather than proactive. A nursing, innocent and naive personality which is often found in stereotyped feminine characters.
Don’t get me wrong, it’s a great literary devise for this story and his history of abuse and trafficking. But I think you’re confused when it comes to masculinity and femininity and how it’s presented in this story.

Damn, how stupid are you? What are you barking at? Imagine reading a whole comment and still managing to trip over the word 'feminine' like it personally attacked you. I clarified right there that I wasn’t insulting femininity — just pointing out that this MC isn’t written like the usual BL bottom trope: overly clingy, passive, or emotionally dependent. But sure, go ahead and twist that into some self-righteous lecture for shit.
Also, calling him a 'damsel in distress' because he has trauma and people care about him? That’s laughable. You're the one reducing him to a stereotype just to make a point — ironic. You’re so desperate to sound deep, but all you did was project your own shallow take and wrap it in fake progressive jargon.
Next time, try reading with comprehension before running a full marathon with a single word.
We need that "REGRET" to come rolling faster, but I'm also loving the pain. I love this MC so much. He's not a crybaby, not clingy, and especially not stupid. He can stand his grounds, does not rely on the ML, and especially not feminine.
