In italy we actually have regular Christmas, the witch (which is called La "Befana") is actually connected to another christian festivity called Epifania, that is every 6th of January; the kids that behaved well receive candies, otherwise you get coal (although nowadays they even sell coal-shaped candies lol, they are pretty hard to chew tho) and you receive them in a big sock (obv not the ones you put on, they're sold at around christmas time in probably every supermarket)
